A Holiday Message

It has been a very busy year at Morpheus Theatre, and I wanted to take a moment to share a few thoughts with everyone.

A new ticketing system

First, thank you to everyone who came out to our 2024 productions, including our most recent pantomime, Puss in Boots.  This was our first show using our new ticketing system – Showpass.  I would like to thank all of our patrons and subscribers for your patience as we all learned how to use this new system.  If you had downloaded your tickets to your phone or printed out the tickets, thank you for using the new technology.  If you still had your tickets from our old system, thank you for your patience as we looked up your tickets or printed new ones.

Patrons should watch their inboxes over the next two weeks as tickets for Steel Magnolias and The McAdo will be emailed out from the Showpass system. If you require printed tickets, please call or email our office and we would be happy to help you out.

Morpheus Theatre has been using our prior system for nearly 20 years. We would have loved to continue working with them for many more years into the future.  Unfortunately, we found out in May 2024, that they were going to be shutting down at the end of the year, so we began a detailed search for the best ticketing system that would meet our needs, be easy to use for our patrons, and fit the budget of a community theatre company.  I do believe we have found a great solution in Showpass, and we promise to work with any of our patrons or subscribers that require a little assistance getting your tickets.

Of course, patrons can still call or visit our office in Parkdale, where Ginette and Janos will still be available to help you (during office hours), or stop by the box office at the Pumphouse Theatre on performance days.  We are in the process of getting a new ticket printer and hope to have it in time for Steel Magnolias.

Expanding, not moving

Second, a big thank you to everyone who responded to our calls for help in September and October.  Morpheus Theatre managed to relocate 8 large truck loads of set pieces, stairs, railings, doors, and flats from Nanton to our new Production Centre.  The Production Centre is located in Highfield Industrial (near Stage West), and will be home to a large collection of set pieces, along with space to build and paint sets for our shows, which will also be available for use by the community.  We will also be opening a third rehearsal studio in the new facility.

This new Production Centre is in addition to our office and Rehearsal Centre in Parkdale.  We do not plan to leave the Parkdale Community Centre as it is an amazing facility which we have called home for over 13 years, and hope to call home for many more.

We still have to clean, inventory and install storage racking before everything is usable, but we are excited by this new opportunity.  We will have an open house by Spring 2025.

Thank you to everyone for your support during our 30th season, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year.  On behalf of Morpheus Theatre, I would like to wish all of our subscribers, patrons, cast and crew, volunteers, board members, and staff a wonderful holiday season.
