Morpheus Theatre Mandate
Our mission is to assist the community, artists, volunteers and students for a lifetime of growth in the theatre, by providing education, and a variety of production experiences, in a welcoming environment.
Morpheus Theatre Vision Statement
Our vision is to be a welcoming family that supports the growth of individuals and the theatre community through the provision of quality and affordable productions, education and rehearsal space.
This is achieved through supporting the Arts Community by providing resources, rehearsal space, box office services and knowledge sharing.
We are committed to excellence in:
- Producing community theatre by selection and presentation of shows worth seeing that expose audiences and volunteers to a variety of theatre experiences attract audiences, artists and volunteers, are well executed, entertaining or thought provoking and are well received;
- Management of the Society by having an effective board structure, policies and strong financial planning and professional, ethical standards of behaviour for staff and volunteers.
- Training for all areas of theatre through high quality workshops, mentoring, production experience and classes, including a youth programs.
- Volunteer Management by providing volunteers with skilled leadership, fulfilling experiences, respect and recognition in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Morpheus was the Greek God of dreams, and Morpheus Theatre focuses on fulfilling dreams. Whether it be the dreams of young thespians looking to start a career on stage or behind the scenes, or the audience wishing to step into a dream world for a few hours to be entertained. Morpheus tries to make these dreams come true. While what we do is much more simple and everyday than making dreams come true, for the people that we deal with – it is an experience they will learn from and remember. For some this means taking the step from their school and into the larger community. For others it is a chance to learn about the behind the scenes workings of a theatre company. Regardless of the reasons for coming to Morpheus Theatre we try to provide everyone with a chance to learn and be part of the experience.
