Workshop participants should come prepared with a piece of heightened text that they would like to work with. It doesn’t need to be long. 6-15 lines. It can be Shakespeare, poetry, anything classical. Even lyrics from a favourite song! Learn it by heart (memorize) prior to the workshop. The speech should not be from a non-human character but age & gender DO NOT need to match your own. What’s important is that you feel a personal connection to the piece, even if you can’t quite articulate what that connection is.
BRING two hard copies (not handwritten) of your speech to the workshop
